This is one of the best books I have ever read. Norm has an amazing way of describing beautiful emotions related to romance, marriage, parenting and worship. Drawing so much from scripture, he really made so much more come alive to me about Jesus’ birth and parents and death, etc.Please write more, and let me know when it is available!

I just finished the book. What a great read!!
Finally! Someone has taken the time to imagine the gospel story from Joseph's perspective.
It is thoughtful, filled with scriptural dialogue and very well written!
It should be required reading for every Christian!
So many focus on Mary as the mother of Jesus, which is very important, but surprisingly little is actually written about her in scripture regarding her influence on Jesus, other than she and her other children attempting to take Jesus back home in the midst of His public ministry.
On the other hand, until this book, no one has given Joseph much consideration in helping raise and equip God's Son, as well as the influence Jesus had on His earthly caretaker.
The book is filled with well developed, interesting characters that intersect Joseph, Mary and Jesus at multiple times during Jesus' 30 plus years on earth.
Highlights for me are the visit of the Magi, the escape to Egypt, Joseph's work as a carpenter, the return from Egypt, an encounter with a mother lion, Joseph's love of Mary, and finally Joseph's deep understanding of Jesus' mission.
This book will make you cry, laugh, and say "wow! I never though of it that way!"
Thank you Mr. Coggin for an inspiring, insightful, expertly crafted work of historical fiction!

NICE BOOK
Just not what I expected. For me, this could not hold my interest. Seldom do I stop reading a book once I have started it, sadly this one I did
I enjoyed the book because it had a lot of insight into husband/wife relationships, friend relationships, child/parent relationship, grief and sorrow feelings, etc. The thoughtfulness into the insight of Joseph as husband, father, son-in-law, friend, etc. and most importantly his relationship with God as a humble man serving his Lord was very creative. The book is not one you can't put down but it is one that you will ponder as you read it and afterward.
As a woman and a mother, I was always intrigued by '...Mary treasured these things and pondered them in her heart.' I never gave thought to Joseph. This book gives insight to Joseph's fatherhood of Jesus. There were ideas throughout the book to stop and think about, such as Joseph being both father and child of Jesus. The beautiful image at the end of the book will be one that will remain in the mind of the readers long after finishing the novel.
