Great book and looking to read the next book. This is a follow up on my earlier review. I love this book, and the characters, and for me, quilting references as I am a quilter too. I love how Sarah, the grandmother in this story, loves spending time with her grand daughters, as I do with my grand children too, and I am from a religious background, my father was a minister. The small prayers that Sarah says, are very much like I pray, everyday and small 'talks' with God.I like how this story, the characters, the setting which is in New England, as I was born in Maine, really helps me connect with the Sarah character. (My grandmother's name was Sarah too.) I like Guideposts personally, as I am a subscriber to their Guideposts magazine, and it is refreshing to read about how God does live and is in our lives by everyday small miracles and blessings. This story, as most of the 'cozy mystery' stories I love to read, are of clean, non-violent, not gory, and not full of deviant sexual perversions and other things that are against my religious beliefs. I am not blind to those things that are in society, but I don't like reading about it or having it 'in my face' all the time. Good, normal, God created heterosexual relationships are what I believe in and will not change my mind, just because 'socialists' want to make the abnormal or perverted sexual deviance seem 'normal and moral', I don't and won't ever. And when I want to read a book for entertainment and relaxation, Guideposts books are what I enjoy reading. This series is like that. If you like these kind of stories, then this series of Patchwork Mysteries are for you. I would and have, highly recommended them. My mother even loves this book, as she is reading my books that I share with her.

Wonderful reading-down to earth style.
I have read some of the later books in the series and have enjoyed them all. I had a hard time getting interested in the storyline but it seemed to pickup for me around chapter 3 or 4. The mystery was sort of easy for me to solve so it was anti-climatic for me, still, it was a good story!
I have teens & preteens (not to mention adults) in the house who love to read. Finding a good book that will keep them interested and not be offensive at every turn of the page is very important to us. This book series has been a blessing to find. It has suspense and mystery, but leaves out all the unnecessary relational and vulgar content. Some areas are a bit slow, but still a very good read.
This is #2 of the Patchwork mystery series. The mystery line was good, but I felt there were a couple of loose ends that weren't "tied up". There were also a few places where the words did not flow smoothly--don't know if these were editing problems or just considered typos. The words were not misspelled, just didn't seem to fit into the sentences correctly. The mystery line consisted of robberies that occurred in several homes and a place of business. An old cellar hidden near a mountain top that was stumbled upon by Sarah and her friend was found to contain some of the stolen items. A school project video tape taken in the same area, showed in the background, a man in a green coat sneaking around in the same vicinity as the cellar. Also found there was a very old-time wedding photo of a young couple in civil war era attire. Sarah felt that this photo was a key to solving the robberies so began a mission to identify the young people.
